Crime Burst community strategy
Before I delve into how a community can always burst
crime swell i want to talk to all of us especially those that are successful in
their various endeavours after all, nearly 90% of all criminal drives are
directed to the presumed successful. One fact is clear, the most dirty and
haggard looking vagabonds in the villages want all the good things of life just
as much as the successful. So don’t consider yourself special specie that is
ordained to enjoy good things of life and the rest do not deserve or desire or
are not good enough for those fine things you are accustomed to. Recently the
minister of education came up with some information I thought she should have
been ashamed of if I were her but that is not the point here; but the information
is that on the average each year 1.7 million secondary school leavers attempt JAMB and that when you add up
all the possible intakes of university students by Federal Universities and polytechnic,
state universities and polytechnics and
all private universities and polytechnics that only a paltry maximum of 500,000
students could be given admission each
year ! This means that 1.2 million ill equipped youths join the unemployment
statistics each year! I ten years alone we would be having a minimum of 12
million youths that neither have employment nor admitted into the university.
This army of youth may perhaps be joined by another army of unemployed
graduates of say about 300,000 every year and that brings the global total of unemployed
and most likely disgruntled youths each years to well over 1.5 million! AS it
were; the minister of education and the minister of labour are at a total loss as
to how to either get the teaming youths space in the university or a gainful employment
and what is more these huge army of youths want as well as all other Nigerians the
very best of good things of life but either they can’t get into the university
or get employed in any reasonable job whatsoever or capable of being employed!
Is it really far fetched that a reasonable number of those youths would gravitate
to all manner of crime amongst them advanced fee fraud, pick pocketing prostitution,
kidnapping, armed robbery, assassins, suicide bombing and a whole lot of other
crimes? You would agree that no doubt a national problem but of course the
population of those that have chose crime are not only in major crimes but perhaps
even more so in respective villages and
towns. They also migrate from villages to the cities vice versa in fact, what
they do is that if the heat is too much in the village they run to the city and
when the heat is turned on in the city they rush down to the village and where
ever they are, survival and d self cotious as usual. If you take in what that
meat in real terms the general growth of crime takes a consistent pattern. First
at the lowest level manifestations the criminal or criminals operate in maximum
secrecy and fear. They are afraid to be identified at this level, armed robbers
wear masks to go and rob etc. After this level, the criminals move to the level
that they don’t wear any mask anymore further their boldness will reach where
virtually everybody in the community knows who and who that commit one crime or
the other but are afraid to even talk about it because you don’t know who is in
a ally to the criminals and any careless word uttered that reaches the
criminals you are sure of ticket to the great beyond almost instantly. It would
even reach the zenith point where crimes and criminals have completely over
taken and over powered society when ever police and other law enforcement
officers are aware of who and who could be responsible of robbery here and a
kidnap there to the extent that even some dubious offices of the law have been
wired into their network or have been completely bought over. That is when you
make report to a police station and you are asked to describe who you suspected
and if you are foolish enough to give your description, unknowingly to you, you
have signed your death warrant as the criminals would get the information from
the police and pays you a visit that would enable embark on a journey of no
return. In the eastern part of Nigeria and else where on several occasions
crime had over taken the society that even police officers who are not part of
the network need protection! 1n the eastern society in places like Aba,
Onitsha, Port Harcourt, Enugu etc rise to the occasion by measures like ‘boys oh
yes’ and ‘Bakassi’ boys that come up and do general cleansing, but of course as
soon as the general cleansing are over and people return to their normal business
and personal living, crime could once more start to rise. For instance no one
would believe that after what “Bakassi” did in Onitsha that any one would be robbed
in places like Onitsha but, right now people are being robbed and killed in broad
day light in those places once again. No doubt it would soon get to the point
that crime and criminals would be in firm control of these cities and surely
the society once again rise to the occasion. So this brings us to what, those
of us or you who are successful should do. All hands must be on deck to engage
the youths; people should set up foundations to give either secondary school or
universities educations scholarship within and without Nigeria. If you can build
a factory in your village or town please do. These will engage the youths by
getting them employed. Create youth football, tennis, hold competitions with
good price money to get the youths actively and gainfully engaged. For the
traders take up young youths train them ad settle them accordingly and less of
story that you caught him stealing stock fish from your wife’s soup pot ad
other monkey stories that some dubious business people come up with. Remember
that a child that says the mum should not sleep has also denied himself from

whats he or she kows to himself praying that the criminals ever remembers
them.Eve some peopleii the spirit of self preservation takes information to the
criminals!
So you need to bear in mind this simple fact to understand this ultimate
strategy in community crime bursting. Steps to crime and other offences bursting,
that reminds me those that are killed maimed by
other peoples placing charms and juju in other houses and farms lands
are even more than the number of death caused by other criminal activities joined
together. So this strategy must also include dangerous men and women in the
communities responsible for this heinous deaths in various communities and towns

All members of the community or tow should organise a general gathering

Get police command at division level as well as other community security
formation alerted and involved in what follows.

I the general meeting let ever one write the names of all, uder suspicion
of various crimes, robbery, kidnapping, advanced free fraud, bombing, members
of a cult or sector or charm spreading and drop into a complaint box unanimously.
Challenge
It is expected that some peoples’ name may be drooped for purpose of mere vendetta
but of course it may not be more than one or two of such show of wickedness so
the town coordinators should use wisdom to discard such isolated cases. Those
that have the highest entry or largest vote would have their names forwarded to
the police and other security formations of the state including SSS and even
EFCC for further severance. Those with average number of entries would be invited
by the community and warned sternly that further activities that are questionable
would not leave the community with any choice than to forward his or her name
to the security formations for closer observation.
This is a sure crime choking strategy. With phones now registered those
that have high entries would be checked out in any kidnap case or advanced fee
fraud case or eve armed robbery ad other associated crimes ve i case of crimes
committed i neighbouring villages ad tows. Those who also have high entries in
charm peddling and related un-justice able crimes would with further observation
e completely ostracised form the community to go ad try their amorous ad heinous
trade in other places!
